So long story short, I go back to my bus earlier this week and found out someone backed into it and now there's a massive dent in the side. Normally I wouldn't mind, but part of the frame is exposed and rain water can get in there and corrosion can happen.

Does anyone know a body shop that deals with buses around the Poughkeepsie or NYC area? Thanks

If you drive a traditional Skoolie made from steel, it shouldn’t be that hard, I guess. I have a dented side panel, made from aluminium. No one wants to touch that with a barge pole.

My bus body is made from fiberglass, which is what most transit buses are made out of, I think.

I'd do it myself but that involves spot welding and I don't have the necessary tools to do it.

Are you sure it’s steel and fiberglass? I think aluminum and and fiberglass makes more sense.

Spot welding on alu is a totally different beast.

Definitely aluminum and fiberglass. And yes it is. The one thing I don't know how to do haha.

Ok. Every problem presents an opportunity. I’ve always wanted to learn how to do TIG welding.

You have a business case: for $1000 you have a tig setup. You can’t have it repaired for that sort of money. Time to have “the talk” with your significant other.

It only makes sense! You’re trying to save money! That argon cylinder on your bedside table is beautiful in the eye of the bewelder.
