Building a toterhome from a 1997 IH crown 71 pass bus

school busses in general like some weight on the rear axle.. when i had my red bus loaded down with metal shelving, tools, and equipment headed to florida.. the ride quality was the best it ever was.. it of course required more downshifting on downgrades and went slower uphill. but sure didnt boiunce around like it normally does..

Mayville, Holly cow, youre way up there. Was thinking about slipping over to take a look at you rig but youre darn near to Devils lake. If you ever get down by Charles City Iowa, Give me a buzz I live close by, we'll go scrounging for a tractor.

Tows great,no issues, turns great,go down the road good, will be putting on about 1000 miles in September, love it wouldn't change a thing.

I have put on about 2000 miles this summer and don't regret building this bus,had a lot of great comments on it and great adventures, looking forward to a lot more.

I think this project is absolutely awesome and I plan on doing one just like this, I was wondering a few things.
How did you reattach the rear portion, did you weld it or river it back on?
Also did you have to move the fuel tank or was it already in front of the rear axle?
Also did you have to make supports for the hitch or were those cross members already welded onto the gram?
Thank you in advance I’m trying to get as much information on this as I can
