Built-in toddler bus seats

Looks like the Craigslist ad is not for the bus seat itself, but something that attaches to a standard bus seat to add a 5 point harness.

How big are the kiddos? Those seats are REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE for any age. It isn't that hard to add LATCH points to the regular seats (or floor) to hold carseats. But then you have carseats to stow at night...

I put a pair of 1/2" eyebolts through the floor and ratchet strap the car seats to them. Say what you will, it works and if the bus flips over the kids will stay put.

SafeGaurd Seats

Did you ever have any luck finding these seats? I'm hoping to find one or two used. I just got a quote for a couple and they are $1000 and $1100 for the two different options that I was hoping to find. Makes for a hard decision when I only paid $3K for the bus!!

We were also concerned about our kiddos being buckled in transit. My wife searched craigslist for seats from pickups/vans that had the seatbelts integrated. Wound up buying seats from a Chevy Silverado- driver passenger and jump seat all for $100. For the co-pilot seat we got a Toyota Sienna captain's chair at a salvage yarn for $100. I welded them into the floor. Cheap, comfortable, and safe. Good luck guys!

Most chevy astro vans, dodge caravans, ect have rear seats with integrated seat belts. They also quick release from the floor making it super simple to build a mount for them. Also if you build the same mount the van had on the floor, you can still have the quick release feature in your bus.

I would head down to your local pick and pull. I'm sure you will find what you need at a fraction of the cost of anything new.
