Bus AC Removed - Should I Sell It?

I removed the A/C system from my bus recently. I know, some of you will think I'm crazy. Anyways, I'm not sure what to do with it now. Should I try to sell it? If so, what's a fair price?

I'm sure I could give it away to someone but I could also use some cash for tools/supplies. Open to thoughts and suggestions.

A/C ran well before I removed it for the internal and exterior room and since it obviously only runs when the bus is running. I have the two compressors, 2 large external fans, the three internal blowers, and all the original wires and hoses. Removed off a 2008 IC RE300.

If you removed the hoses they quickly go from working to ruined. They re not designed to deal with normal humid air.

This. Did you evacuate the system? Will likely need a new dryer (I think).

The compressors also will likely corroded almost immediately.

the hoses arent ruined, you casn VAC a system down to 500 microns let it sit for a couple hours, install a new receiver dryer and its as good as new.. if the hoses were ruined then any system that sprung aleak and lost its freon would be destroyed..



which engine was in your bus? im interested complete compressor brackets if they are from a T444E or a DT-466E.. and interested in a condensor and maybe an evaporator... I woulkdnt expect it for free however that stuff doesnt generally bring much cash as carrier mobile A/C is no longer in business and parts are hard to get for them unless you know how to retrofit..

i'll also add that plan to roast driving thast bus in the summer no matter how much you insulate and seal it up.. without engine driven A/C in hot weather you are gonna need that bottle of water handy.. camper A/C, minisplit, etc dont help alot against that huge windshield driving into the summer sun.the fact you have an RE means you wont have direct engine heat at you which definitely helps top some extent.


I'd put one of those systems right back in. and keep the other deleted.. one will cool you on the road nicely in a fully insulated bus
