Bus bends bridge

However, all suspension bridges are flexible structures. They're designed to flex slightly from loads and wind forces - if they didn't they'd probably crack apart. Many years ago I was riding my bicycle across the Firth of Forth suspension bridge (the old one, not the new Queensferry Crossing) in Scotland, and when I stopped in the middle for a rest I could see and feel the entire bridge gently undulating when heavy trucks were moving on it. It was like being on a ship in a gentle swell, just slowly bobbing up and down. Fun! It looked like that bridge in AR was not happy under the weight of a loaded MCI, but who knows if it caused any lasting damage or not?
