bus dimensions?

I have never been in an Amtran, and am considering one that's quite a bit to far to kick the tires... I know it's a 40' re
Anyone know if it's 6'0 cieling?

Got a picture of it?

Look at the level of the top of the passenger windows compared to the level of the top of the driver's window and/or the service door to determine whether it's a high roof or a standard roof.

I can live with that. 2 feet off the end for 6" up top... Easy decision!

Well, 2 feet out of the middle. The front and rear overhangs will be the same, and the wheelbase will be 2' shorter than a 40' RE. Makes it a little less of a bear to get in and out of parking lots and other tight-ish places.

Even better. Thank you for the help.
This forum rocks.

I am working on getting my bus shipped that I bought with a Ski company before moving to FL and am looking for some dimensions. It's a 2001 International. Has 13 windows, not counting the driver (So I guess 14 window)

Can anyone give me ballpark dimensions? My guess is 40ft long but don't know height, width, or weight.

Others here may have better info, but I would estimate your bus to be between 38-40' (13 windows x 2.5' = 32.5' behind driver. From drivers seat to front will be between 6-8 feet on a conventional). Your width will likely be the standard of 96" and the interior height of 74". Your window height and relation of drivers window to the others indicates this is a low ceiling bus. Hope this helps.

Yeah it certainly looks like it's going to be quite pricey (upwards of $5k). I was hoping to get lucky on an empty semi truck heading this way. I was looking to ship to save time. Driving it back will burn 5 of my 15 vacation days a year, but it looks like that's the option.

It WILL be an adventure, so try to enjoy it!
Getting the bus home is half the fun.:wink1:

I thought about "shipping" till I saw what it cost. Made me laugh a bit even.

What are your shipping destinations?

I may have a contact that can help. Just need start and end city zip codes.
