I've watched a few videos and looked a few more photos of conversions.

My question is this; What type of insulation is between the inner galvanized and the outer skin ?

The reason I ask is if you are going to live full time, wouldn't it be better to add some substantial
home type insulation ? ( Icynene foam insulation )

Also this would give you a chance to check for rust and wiring issues.

I know this would be a massive undertaking drilling rivets, marking panels, and so forth.

Maybe I'm too worried about it lasting a long time.

Usually it's fiberglass batts. If you have any window or roof leaks it may be wet fiberglass batts.

The foam insulation does give more R value per inch, with the spray-in stuff best of all. It's also the most expensive but for a full-timer it may be well worth the price.
