depends on how many busses are destroyed that were in the pipeline for replacement.. my guess is many schools probably moved their busses to higher ground.. some were used as evacuation vehicles in corpus..

the bigger issue is Gasoline / diesel. MANY refiners exist in the greater houston area.. there are some drilling rigs affected however we will l.ikely see a surplus of oil and vast shortages of gasoline in the southern areas.. and probably **MUCH** higher prices all over the USA.. Houston's worst is yet predicted to come.. as the storm is forecast to move back in the direction of the city... if by chance the cold-front thats set to sweep the US this week would happen to speed up ir could push harvey away from houston.. but this is a double-edge sword as it could push him back to see (what we DONT want)...

Alright gentlemen and ladies. My lack of computer skills are kicking my butt on this one?
I was born and raised in TEXAS and I have family all over the state and none of them are in harms way just out of corpus in robstown and just out of Houston in spring.
A week ago I joined a Facebook group that is called SKOOLIE NATION and they have several busses everywhere and several around Texas but one food truck bus is going to Houston to help and asking for manpower. Forgot to look at the name from there before I came here? I know Ya'll will appreciate a bus helping out. If you see it do what you can please.

Many of them are STILL lived in! My daughter and her husband own a previous FEMA mobile home a 3/1 that they were able to purchase for $1500.

FWIW if there were any practical use for myself and my bus I'd come up to help out.
Haven't heard from Tango in a couple days, I'm hoping he and his family are safe and dry!
From what the news reports are saying, folks are stealing the boats coming out to try and help them in some areas.

irma is dangerous.. even up in orlando its gonna get real... it looks to stay over land now at latest track as it went further westward.. so its more likely to directly hit orlando as a moderate Level 2!!

I live as far from saltwater as one can in the sunshine state, so that's good.
My lot has decent drainage, no wet spots. We're not in a low lying area.
I'd consider boarding up my many windows, but the plywood supply is all but gone and I dont have the time to fight the crowds.
Gonna just stay put and hope for the best. Looks like the eye may be passing right over us at some point, if current models stay accurate.
Its just been a horrible couple weeks, and now this storm is a bit more than I can deal with!

At least we've got food and water, and we're armed.
I may lose some windows, maybe a roof. I sure hope not, though.
I feel for the folks on the many islands in the Caribbean. They may have another storm on the way in a few days, too. Man, when it rains it certainly pours.

We need to get folks out to protest this hurricane!

Good for you, ECCB. Next year, I'd suggest loading up on R-Panel (steel panels) to cover your windows, install blind bolts around your windows and doors, and a boatload of bolts to fasten the R-panels.

We did ok.
Our buses didn't even notice the weather. Had we been living in one, the storm would have had little effect on us.
Roll Your Own did great, even with just a roof and ribs with no side panels.

Our lil dodge work van has been the handiest thing ever, we've been hauling supplies and tools, cutting trees out of driveways and fences. Got power back last night, hoping the rest of the state gets their power back on soon.
STILL no word from my family in Sebring, though. They got hit hard and their cell reception is still out.

Gotta wonder just how hard Sebring got hit. My aunt lives there, but evaced to her daughter's place in Chambersburg, PA. We found that out just recently. Her place, unfortunately, is in a mobile home park. They bought it because, supposedly, that part of Flahdah rarely gets hit.
