Buyzen Bus Build: 2013 Chevy Express Shuttle

Thank you all for the nice comments!

It's been a bit slower but still steady pace on the bus. I mostly finished framing the bathroom/shower area and I ripped up the flooring in the cab area to prepare for a passenger seat install and grinded some surface rust on the drivers side floor pan and repainted with rustoleum. Luckily nothing major for a 2013 but happy I did it because there were a few spots that could of been worse in a few years. Once the seat is installed I plan to put underlay and the same dark brown carpet on my rear walls in the cab area.

Hoping I finish the bathroom/shower this month. Just keeping it simple with FRP panels and no fancy tile. Will have an on demand hot water heater hanging in the bathroom vented through the ceiling.

while you have the cab torn up I would highly suggest sound deadening and heat insulation to keep it comfortable and quieter.
I added sound deadening mats to the dog house and floor as well as some thermo-tec matting (you'll need spray adhesive). My legs arent cooking and I can have a conversation. huge improvement.

Thank you yes I was thinking the same. I used Siless Hybrid 3 in 1 on the entire bus but don't want a stick on product in the front cab because I want to be able to touch up surface rust if it reappears. I will be installing carpet with a thick underlay which should help but will look into thermo-tec.

:Thanx:

Can you give me any details (photos?) of how you positioned and mounted the passenger seat? Thank you!

I had a custom seat bracket made as the chair I got with a seatbelt was too wide for standard GM vehicle seat brackets. They ended up making something really beefy and secured super well to the floor. Holes were then drilled to line up with the seat I bought. The seat does push up far forward to comfortably walk behind though they didn't do it as forward as I liked. I can always redrill new holes or get a different seat but for now it's great having a safe passenger seat. I used leftover underlay and carpet from our house which turned out great. Hopefully this helps.

Wow it's been a minute... almost 4 months! Well the passenger seat was a big project and I posted above and below is the wetbath/shower. It was journey especially with the FRP panels and the bus curves. This is my first time doing any of this. Hot water heater still needs to be plumbed and vented in the spring. Don't ask me why I thought building a cabinet in a wetbath was a good idea... what a pain to waterproof :banghead::rofl:

Also... MaxxAir Fan in the emergency roof hatch! Yes it doesn't leak and is water tight. Also wheel well cabinets and my water storage and music studio/desk/workspace/breakfast nook just recently completed. I shifted away from my 32gallon water tank to small 6 gallon jugs after realizing my lifestyle and wanting easier access to refilling water. Now onto the kitchen...

I can only do mostly woodworking in the bus as it's regularly -20C or colder outside :marshmallow:
