Hi all!
My name's Kate, I'm a single woman living in LA.
I've gone down the rabbit hole of skoolie blogs and I'm in love with the idea of converting one myself. I recently secured the funds, and am seriously considering starting the project this fall.
BUT I'm very worried about two things:
1) Parking- I need to live in the general LA vicinity for work. I'm not deluded into thinking that I'll be able to park IN the city, but I worry about finding parking even in the surrounding suburbs.
2) Emission regulations- My dad is a carpenter and lives in MN, so I would need to purchase the bus in the midwest, convert it in MN and then drive it back to CA. I've read a lot about how strict/expensive the laws are in CA... but is it even possible to buy outside of CA and then get it registered here? Are RV regulations different from normal auto regulations?
Any and all thoughts are appreciated.
Thank you!

Hello JustKate
You're wisely asking the right questions.

You have other single women neighbors in your area also working on buses, or acquiring them.

The information is here. I'm in a different state with a different set of problems, so I'm not much help.

Good luck.

Buy your bus here in CA, drive it to MN Convert & title it there, drive back to Ca when it's done, CHP verifies it's a RV & your done.
