I have removed all hardware and am down to the doors being able to wiggle but they don’t lift up far enough to come out of their pivots. I looked down into the top and see what looks like to half (or broken?) threads. So hard to describe... there was a ball bearing collar that slipped out. And I can’t find anything else to unscrew or remove:banghead: does anybody have any suggest? I have to get them out to take out and repair bottom step.
Thanks!

I had a hell of a time, but finally got my bi-fold out. I can't remember how I did it, but I remember it lifts out from the top after a lot of fuss. Sorry, man. Someone will come along who actually knows how to get em out, though! Good luck!

You need to remove the bottom bracket that the door post goes into. There are two 7/16" nuts just behind the bottom step on the underside. I had a helluva time too until I figured it out!

Thanks so much for this tip. You saved us a lot of head scratching. One door out. The other is going to take some persuasion! Hope to get it off tomorrow and start repairing that bottom step. Half of that beam the bolts connected to are eaten up with rust! This is the first time I’ve cut into a vehicle to repair rust. A little stressed about it! I can cut, weld and drill steel so feeling hopeful:)

I totally get it. Imagine buying a bus and cutting the roof off with the only experience being YouTube University. I consider myself a decent welder but doing a roof raise is foreign to me! I did ok so far though!

So cool! We fund a tall shorty and won’t be living in it full time so didn’t feel a need for a raise. Watched a TON of them on YouTube though...looks so fun and stressful all in one. Glad it’s working out for you! I have beginner welding skills and have been attending Yutube University too:smile:
