I agree with the people that have been taking captains chairs out of Ford conversion vans "Flexsteel" is the brand name that you're looking for, they are very durable and comfortable some can fully recline, our donor van was a Waldoch conversion, late 90s

Finally got arond to watching the video. VERY interesting. I'd love to see it up close and personal to see how it latches left and right.

I don't know if I have enough room for it to flip forward but I guess that doesn't matter too much. It can flip backwards so long as the couch or whatever else does behind it isn't in the way.

With a new 8 ft ceiling, I could go straight up with it.

First, edited my reply.

Second, I haven't gone to their blog yet but would they? I doubt I'd want to pay for it since it's probably something I can do myself but being full time skoolie kids, do they even have the time for doing projects on other buses? I dunno what they do for a living. He mentioned something about making money for a water heater but his voice doesn't carry well in the video with the mic turned away from him.

Third, I suppose the easiest way to do it would be to get two sets of rails and just stack them.

I even bookmarked the page # of the post, so that when the time comes, I can refer to it. Maybe she could get him to at least post his plans so that those who could, would, and the rest of us would have more members to ask for assistance. ha ha hum.

Those of you that have added captain's chairs to the front of your bus for both passenger and driver, what brand/model did you get. I'm thinking the easiest is to go junk yard diving until I find a model of mini van/SUV/truck seat that I like. That's a fair amount of wandering tho. If there are some I should avoid or look for in particular that would be good to know.

If/when I find one, I'll get them from a vehicle that blew an engine instead of a wrecked one just so it hasn't seen a lot of stress.

Drivers seat...2007 ProStar International, Pass. seat 2007 Sterling both came from drivers side, both are air ride...both came from scrap tractors.
Neither swivel or recline...which would have been nice, but free is the right price. Seat covers were made for both and they now look the same. Drawer/step pulls in/out and locks in place.

I was proud of the studs I just welded -on my turn signal boxes, but may have to reevaluate my skill level.

That isn't HALF bad but it would be cooler if it was a pocket slider. That is, the same level as the floor.


That said, I'm a newbie and still haven't welded anything more than floor patches yet. I hope my skills are half as good as what I can imagine for projects. If so, I'll be sitting pretty!!

Thanks for the kind words! Not all me, my brother did the aluminum tig welding. He's a welder/fabricator by trade....he builds muscle cars for the well off.

Google...56 hauler.ca I think? It's a $900,000 1956 F100 that was entered in the Riddler Car Show in Detroit...he built a good portion of the truck. Not, paint/body, electrical or mechanical....fab/welding.
