Alright, we are just about ready to put some bids on a bus... But i have a few thoughts before we do.

Alright so, we have 4 cats, a great Pyrenees and 3 kids. That makes 10 mouths to feed and clean up after... I am looking for a large bus like a 40ft because of our immediate needs.

I plan to live in the bus and travel for abt a year until we have land to park and start building a cabin (to move the cats into mostly) ... We plan to travel every year in our rig once we settle... From new england to west coast each jan-may.. Without the cats (they have moved around w us for over 12 years except the smallest who is 3) and i want them in our forever home with care.

Im worried 40ft is overkill and going to be too expensive to maintain once its just us humans and a dog. Although the kids will be getting bigger so idk what are your thoughts on this?? I have seen a lot of ppl w 40 ft who seem to be trading in for camper vans... Sigh.. Idk. Decisions decisions....

Thoughts.
Well i cam not speak for the pets. I dont have any.
People as first will it a fun ride but will want more privacy as they grow.
All my kids are.grown, so i travel with myself an 1 son which is disabled.
He loves it. As do i.
My BB is 30 feet and can get into places a 40 footer can not.
Good luck.

I full timed with a Golden Retriever and a cat in a 40' bus. It was a good fit for me. Later I full timed with three Golden's and got to wishing for a 45' bus.

With that crowd you may want to tow a bunk trailer behind the bus.:biggrin:

Good luck.

It costs the same to maintain a shorty as it does a full size. THe mechanical components are the same.

4-5 months every year with 5 humans and a Great Pyrenees? Go with the 40' bus. As ECCB said, the maintenance will be the same.
