Has anyone used Faux Tin Tiles (light styrofoam) on furring strips to finish their ceiling? Or anything other than wood? I like the look but am also concerned about the stories of wood holding moisture. Also looking for the best insulation and vapor barrier.

Thanks! 😊

I thought about it and then the price scared me off. I’m also keeping my existing ceiling so I’d have something to stick them onto.

I’m looking for something to use on the bathroom ceiling that’s not wood. I might consider them for that space.

I picked up a roomfull of these foam flooring tiles (sold by Costco) for another project,
and am planning to use them on the ceiling. It fits my color and theme I think, but have not got to that point yet. I am not sure if there is any downside to them..I know this lowers the perceived height, but I have high ceiling. It cuts down on noise..but any issues? Not really seen it done! Must be a reason..

That may add some insulation value. If anything it would keep the bathroom comfortable while showering over the radiating cool ceiling during a cold winters day.
