Ok, for years I have changed oil on my cars and trucks, but my bus is my first diesel. I will look through the owner's manual and read what it has to say. Are there things that I should do that is any different than what I am use to? Since the filter is up right, I should think I could pre fill the oil filter.

Any suggestions from all you experienced bus owners would be greatly appreciated.

You about have it. Prefill the filters because with their large capacity you will be starving the engine for oil for a long period if you do not. Other than that...make sure your drain pan is up to the task of dealing with gallons of oil. Ditto for making sure you have a big enough filter wrench in case it's on really tight.

break the oil filter loose while the engine is running, the oil pressure inside the filter will help to loosen the filter, after the first filter removal don't overtighten it and future removal should be easy. If you choose to prefill your filter, understand that anything that you put in the center hole will not be filtered (keep it clean) .
