We always wanted a Trail 90. Had planned on eventually buying & restoring one, but had yet to go down that road. Mulling over rear deck options this morning, and what might best fit atop one, I started thinking about the Trail series again. Imagine my surprise when a NEW Honda Trail came to the top of Google's search results!

Cool moped, it is sharp. I really like off road cycles. $3,800 is bus prices, though. Its only $500 less than their own 250cc Rebel or CBR300F. Weird how I always like the expensive one.
*For half that price and free fuel at the campground....

I buy old mopeds for $200 or less. usually less.
$5 in carb cleaner and a bit of tinkering is all they usually need.
they go 45mph and I can pick them up and put them in a bus.

Hey DeMac
Ya $3800 is crazy money for a toy like that. As you suggested and a buddy of mine also says the electric is the way to go, he's got two and loves them. And as you said if you're plugged in or the genny is running you got free fuel.

I planned to have a couple electric bikes on my big boat for travelling ashore.
A bike has no license, no insurance, is street legal everywhere in the world,
and you can make them too fast to be safe and offroad capable too.

Those mopeds look beautiful, ECCB! Very nice.

But...

The Honda's as much about nostalgia and... being a Honda... as anything else.
Neither 2 stroke nor electric is anything we want. Nor Chinese made.
Fuel injection is something we do (no fueling issues @ altitude).
Has ABS, disc brakes, & can do 55mph. All important to us.
Not really looking for alternatives. Just pointing out what I thought was cool for Honda fans.

That new 125 is cool and nostalgic, for those who remember the old Trail 90's.
Wonder if the new 125 has the "dual" range trans. the 90's had?
Don't think I'll run out and buy one anytime soon, but thanks for posting the pic...

its very cool.
was just throwing the moped out there as I think LOTS of skoolie folks could benefit from small, simple, lightweight transportation once at camp/base.

when i joined the forum i had a few of those old hondas, including a 3 wheeler 125.

i paired down my collection but still have a an '84 110CT, and the bumper mounts to take it along for the trip.

Very cool, Turf!
How long have you had her?

I've had the 110 since the early 90's. i put over 5000 miles on it running thru the city streets of Denver and up on the trails in the rockies.
i bought a second one for a girlfriend that didn't like to ride, and then the 3 wheeler, because horizontal hondas are cool.

i still got the original honda, it needs a battery, but will start on the first kick if the gas has'nt shellaced up in it. I'm a fan!

the reason i held on to it was for a bumper ride. this last christmas, i was eyeballing ebikes, thinking that may be the future.

Yep fully agree for all these same reasons, I'm really stuck on the Grom but love this retro look. They even have a Hunters version in sand camo color, looks awesome. I had an opportunity to test ride a Grom a couple months ago and loved it.

I totally Love Mopeds!! I really need to find me one and then have ECCB show me how to soup it up.. all the ones i ever had were governed to 20 MPH. (max speed allowed in ohio for them)..

I've got five in the garage in various states of repair. next time you're down here I'll give you one!:thumb:

With Tomos and typical mopeds you get 10-15 mph with a sprocket change and a pipe with an expansion chamber. A simple carb rejet and you've taken it from 28 mph to 45 in an afternoon.
