I am looking at a 1978 MCI-8 Crusader and had some questions about other peoples answers to the door.

This bus doesnt have an outside lock or handle so the only way to open it was from the inside or using a pole through the DS window to push the inside door handle to open the door.

I have seen people with flat RV style handles but is there a company/source for the handles or is it all creative invention-like?

I don't have an answer, but I have to piggyback on this question. I'm assuming the best answer is a door replacement. Does anyone have a spare door lying around for a Micro Bird? [emoji51]

If you have the split door, the "popular" way to do it a few years ago was to build a new single door from scratch or a kit.

I built my Eagle door from a kit.

Nice door build. but they need work on their math, $3900 is not 1/3 of $7000.
If I made that door I could make about $3500 profit.

The one we are looking at has a one piece door already, just no outside handle.

Door handles are relatively easy to mount with a drill, jigsaw, die grinder.
The door in the link costs more than most here paid for their whole bus.

the ones I drove had a big button in the middle of the front of the bus that you pushed to open the door if it was latched, button had a hole for a padlock to lock it
