Looks good!

Hopefully you can get back to it, (pun intended!), once you recover?

Mebbe "Buddy" can finish it up for you while your "away"???

Not looking forward to this one.... needed it since 1993:hide:

Lumbar laminectomy is a surgical procedure to relieve pressure on the spinal nerves. Degeneration, or wear and tear, in the parts of the spine may narrow the spinal canal. This puts pressure on the nerves in the canal. This condition is called spinal stenosis. A laminectomy involves removing a section of the bony covering over the back of the spinal canal. This takes pressure off the spinal nerves.

Wishing you the best milkmania.

Spinal surgery has to be one of the most painful of surgical procedures.

I had three cervical vertebrae fused, and say good post-op care is critical for a speedy recovery.

I had several weeks of the pain-that-you-can't-live-with. Largely from sitting in a recliner for a week post-surgery. It felt great the first week in that chair, spent the next two weeks on the floor.

I feel for you! I have prolapsed disks and arthritic spurs in that area of my back.

I do hope the surgery goes well and you are right as rain in no time.

Once removed, do the bones reform?

from some of the videos I've watched... sometimes the doctor fuses plates over them and sometimes they don't

I know if I don't quit watching surgery videos, I'm gonna talk myself out of it.... I mean, hey I've made it this far, needing it since 1993... I'm nearing my useful duty cycle anyway :doh:

Squished nerves is bad. Period!
My Primary Care Physician was furious today when I'd mentioned all the MRI's and dropped balls from all my other health care providers! he was dropping F bombs!

I had 3 MRI's December 2017 in the same day with different medical facility, with same results from readings... but, no doctor acted upon them.

I'd gone to this current Doctor after my heart attack in January in the same medical care system and was complaining about the chronic back pain and acute knee pain... turned to his laptop, submitted orders for MRI on a Tuesday, tested, and results were on my phone 30 minutes after MRI's (through their app) I was still driving home!
His message was QUOTE"Severe Canal Stenosis with Nerve Root Compression. Let's get him out to Dr. Foxx as soon as possible"

Let me just say.... I was sitting in knee surgeon's office on Thursday and Back Neurosurgeon on Frida! (of the same week!!!)

so, in the second week of September, I was looking at 3 surgeries by end of year... The back surgery will be the second of those surgeries.

Cried like a baby talking to Back Neuro Surgeon.... Told him someone finally heard my calls for help!!!
Very emotional, because my back pain has dictated my life since 1993

It sure does control your life. Mine has flared up recenntly and I long for a day without restrictios. A couple of days back, I had a stomach ache much like one gets after getting racked. I finally figured out this was due to the back pain.

I would not be looking forward to the surgery ... but I would be looking forward to normal movement.
