Any proof to back up the shipping to China for processing then back?
Any proof for any of the other claims?

You make a lot of statements but offer nothing in the way of corroboration. The burden of proof is on you.

The buy only local honey is a good suggestion. It also helps if you have allergies, the local honey exposes you to it and allows your body to adapt. Buying out of state or imported doesn't offer the same benefits. Though you really want raw honey, not pasteurized.

I don't have proof but I do remember a few years ago it was ok'd to process chicken for US consumption in China. Was in the news headlines for a day or two but not much fanfare.

The CCP is definitely not cute and cuddly, and never will be by general Western standards, but when you put them into context with the Qing Dynasty and the Guomindang, both of whom shared rule of China at different times in the 20th Century, the CCP don't stand out all that much.

My first hand observation is much more recent, 2010-2014, but I believe the PRC has been more or less steadily improving their performance many ways for a while now.

I think Tiananmen Square was when some party elite realized how easy it was to go too far and began to slowly work at convincing others.

Little by little things began to improve after the rampant democide of the late-Mao era. Before COVID-19 the lives of ordinary Chinese people had been more or less steadily improving for some time.

It remains to be seen where things stand now. That's why I intend to get in touch with as many of my former students as possible.

problem is, you won't know if your former students are giving honest answers or just trying to stay out of jail because of CCP sensoring.

Just got another letter from the Guernsy County (OHIO) health department..they issue the license for my campground.
Ohio has extended the travel ban until May 1st....they sure didn't pro-rate my license fee when they sent my renewal bill.
I'm a bit conflicted on the governments reactions...but social distancing, frequent hand washings and frequent dis-infecting commonly touched surfaces doesn't seem to be asking too much. I did get a bit miffed when I drove by the local country club and saw plenty of golfers out....makes closing state parks and camp grounds seem arbitrary. Especially since all my campground sites except 1, are rented on a annual basis to people who live in the Akron area.

I came across it on facebook a few months back so dont know how true it all is. More just wondering if anybody might have heard about it and if some of it might be true.

A local bee company puts hives on our farm every year and we get 50 lbs of raw honey from them every november, its a nice commodity to have in our storage.

I learned from a bee keeper that a bee hive is maintained at 96 degrees F by the worker bees. They carry water into the hive for cooling and their needs as well as have bees that move the air around to maintain the temperature.

So, pasturization is not needed to keep raw honey and it should not be refrigerated. It should also be keptat less than 150 degrees F.

Also, when it does crystalize, do NOT put it in the microwave. That kills the good bugs it has in it. Bring it up to temp over a very low slow boil to maintain all the good properties.

I've always hoarded honey. It keeps forever. If it crystallizes just stick it outside in the heat, if you live in FL.
On our last trip when we went to a bee keeper off of 50 about a mile from where 520 joins in. We picked up 6 pounds. It is by far the best honey we have had. That was not enough!

I suppose you can store honey outsiide in Florida if it wern't for the bears ... Oh my!

TJ Maxx / Marshalls has a gourmet food section and for a couple of years now they've been regularly stocking Breitsammer creamy honey from Germany, which is just about the best thing I've ever put in my mouth. For a while I've had an absurdly large cache of the stuff in my house, but I no longer feel weird about it.

After reading the last few post on this thread I went to the pantry and looked at the food labels. There are very few labels that say where the food is from or processed. Most labels are criptic manufactured for______ or distributed by_______. No real indication of where the ingredients are sourced or processed.

And yes we are shipping chicken to China to be processed and then shipped back to us under the label "Grown in the USA". It would not surprise me if the same where happening with pork. Also chinese chicken is being imported along with farmed fish. Chinese import account for most of our apple juice concentrate. A web search will show info on all of this.

I think as a country we need to demand country of origin labeling for the source and processing of our food and medicines. It should be in bold above the nutritional information and in print large enough to read without a magnifying glass. As consumers we should have the right to know where the food we purchase comes from.

Buy from local growers when you can!

Ted

My friends are all partying tonight. Like covid isn't even real.

I think I feel a bit let down. I don't know many folks who are at all observing the stay at home thing.
Hopefully they're right and I'm doing all this for nothing. That's the goal.

That’s what we’re doing tonight. We’ve had enough of this crap.

I haven’t left the house in three weeks, this sh*t is real and why gamble.
Stay the course and wait it out.

A get together is a bit of a gamble. There's a half million confirmed cases in the US now so there's a lot of the virus floating around. I was more willing to risk the illness last month but the more I've learned about the disease the more I think I'd rather avoid it as long as possible. I'm a fit, hale and hearty guy, but I am an over 60 year-old man.

How cruel can this virus be, to selectively kill old men?

Your governor has proven to be an idiot regarding covid-19...
Spreading misinformation etc. so it only stands to reason the people of FL are not paying attention...

I have a lot of friends in NY city & state -- they're NOT going to any parties...

A LOT of folks I know here are still saying its miraculously going to go away.
I wish someone hadn't put that into their minds.

One really BIG lesson I've learned in all this is how poor everyone I know's concept of civic duty and social responsibility really is. Its like that concept is just totally lost and we're living in the time of ego's and narcissism.
