im just doing my thing... .. however I do put one on before I go inside anyplace that isnt my house..
This right here....

That is how I'm treating it now. Nobody in my house, or town for that matter, have it, so we will do our best to keep ourselves safe without locking down until it forever goes away. I doubt that will happen anyway. Even if it does, 6 months from now it will be another virus with a new name. We're actually headed to the big Arizona city this weekend to check up on the in-laws and say happy 75th birthday to the mother-in-law. Haven't been to see them in about 6 months. Next weekend it will be over to Utah and step-moms turn. I have a growing list of repairs to make there. Basic plan is to avoid those that I can, and visit as few stores as possible. HF is most definitely on the list, I need more destruction materials so I can finally get to the construction stage! I need to get the bus functionable so I can just travel wherever I want and not be dependent on stores, restaurants and hotels for survival!

im just doing my thing... i cant stay locked up in a house fearful of a virus that may or may not kill me.. I *CAN* wear a mask and not do dumb crap like sing in a church choir or go to a protest.. I also cant stay in complete solitude either otherwise as ive said before.. i *will* be a death statistic albeit corona or not.. i got together with a few friends this weekend to move busses around.. we stayed in clean hotels and washed our hands alot.. im not sure really how the virus travels around in grease and diesel fuel so we prob did OK..

More and more businesses in columbus are making masks a requirement.. esp now that obtaining masks is becoming easier.. a couple places said they didnt at first because getting masks was hard and they had to turn alot of people away if they didnt have them.. now its easy to get them so turning someone away due to a mask means if they want to patronize they will get some..

no one here masks outside.. I dont either.. honestly I have trouble breathing outside in the heat in a mask.. I love the heat I spend alot of time outside.. im not going to sit in overly air-conditioned spaces just so I can wear a mask.. however I do put one on before I go inside anyplace that isnt my house..

Bro no one's at all asking you to stay locked in your home or kill yourself. YOu really should see someone though. Having lost two of my brothers to suicide I never like to hear a friend talk like that.
Wear a mask is literally all I'm personally asking of MY fellow man. I do have very strong opinions about our country's lack of response and the general selfish nature of society, but by all means man go wherever makes you happy. None of us here are judging you or anyone else for getting coffee or anything else. I do rag on theme parks, bars, and those kinds of places. But everyone has their own comfort level. At the end of the day I applaud anyone who A- admits covid is real B-will wear a mask or otherwise try to limit the spread or risk.
I'd LOVE to see mandatory mask policies. I'd go more places if anyone here were participating in virus abatement efforts like that.

We just arrived in the Sunshine State with more household goods. Along the route, we saw various levels of mask wearing. I think the experience at Cracker Barrel in Gulf Port, MS was great. They had all of the normal table stuff removed and seated every other table. All of the staff (on duty) wore a mask. We wore our masks until we sat down to eat. This was the first restaurant we have been to in 3 months! We did make one fuel stop in Tallahassee ... but that was very early morning and we did not go inside and saw nobody. We stopped for a pit-stop just north of Daytona Beach at a a FastTrac where NONE of the employees had a mask on and half of the customers did ... the two of us and one other person. We'll be at the county offices to register our minivan tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how that goes.

Glad to hear your trip is going smoothly.
I sure wish this virus weren't floating around. Its my turn to buy you guys taco bell next.

I am a little late to the party here on this thread. I read a few replies and wanted to share my own experience. I have taken a lot of time off work, I have also been allowed to telework. Distance learning with kids has been tough. We have been doing great at social distancing. This horrible event has allowed me with plenty of extra time to work on the bus. I have been getting a lot done and finally have my mojo back to work on it.

Thank you ... it has been a rough few days. Rough on my OLD body that is. We finished unloading at 4:00am this morning. I am about to head to sleep and rest up for we depart for Illinois as soon as we can.

We'll catch up on the next trip 'cause I will have "stuff" to bring to you. Still do not know when that trip will happen. My guess is it will be mid to late July ... if we can stand the heat. Not having insulation is killer.

Lets not go into that... I'm enjoying the thread, man. As sad a thread as it is its one of the only non-politicized covid discussions I've seen going anywhere.

Totally agreed -- only posted it regarding the Skoolie with outsiders being unwelcome in a rural area -- which most camping area's are...

No worries. Just remember what happened to the last thread on that topic, though.
That thread came and got locked before I even had a chance to chime in LOL. I might have made it even worse.

on a related note that's the thread that had that Columbus bus the police called out on Twitter.

I spend time trying to track that down. There were no arrests. I talked to a couple of people local to that area, and they are pretty sure the bus had kitchen knives and an axe in it. Nothing you or I wouldnt have in ours.

of course no more was mentioned about the columbus bus other than I heard its driver / owner was found and investigated but no more after has been published about it..

I did my first dine-in experience this morning.. my roomie and I went to a local restaraunt that its a large space.. inside distancing at the dining room was very good and tall barriers placed between the booths.. I really hope even after Covid they leave those booth barriers up..

sadly though my roomie and I were the only ones other than employees that walked in or left with masks on.. its epxected to see masks off at the tables as you are eating and drinking but to see the "breakfast mob" beginnging (we went early) as we left and if there were any masks in the people coming in I sure didnt see them..

this restaraunt isnt rural but its at the edges of the city in a suburb considered "country".. sadly it seems the more "country" areas are much less masking than when in the city areas.. the more rural areas are where the virus is seemingly spiking now as its made its way from the cities.. apparently those communities felt isolated and didnt need to take precautions previously??

I actually feel safer going to the city now vs the farther out areas as masking and distancing seems much better practiced.. unfortunately many of the places in the city I like to attend have been destroyed by the protests or are closed because of protests.. boarding up windows and installing metal bars so they dont get looted.. several of the coffee shops where I hang and write code had their patio furniture stolen or destroyed and dont have the $$ to replace it or arent because they are afraid of it getting damaged again.. patios are where i feel the most comfortable CoVid and body-wise (as much as I preach A/C in my bus I really Hate sitting inside with it here in ohio as its well-overused)..

many businesses in the urban city have made masking a requirement to enter.. and in a couple coffee places you can unmask at your seat but they require you mask up to walk around inside (restroom, to order, etc).. they are both wide open spanning spaces.. I feel comfortable inside those buildings.

hopefully the rural areas realize masking at least indoors is important..

I do have issues with outdoor fitness exercising / walking / biking with masks on.. I have numbers to prove that one with increased heart rate and lower oxygen saturation levels on my meters. I havent yet found a fitness friendly mask.. ive tried paper medical style, foam, and cloth.. they say risk is very low in those situations. and I dont plan to get into any outdoor (or indoor) crowd situations..

masking in the grocery stores has gone up.. I try and order online most of the time but sometimes I need to go in..

DONT USE THE U-SCAN !!

well at least not at walmart or kroger in central ohio.. I have noticed that at the regular registers the employee cleans the card reader and register after each customer.. I have watched at least 4 or more people use the same U-Scanner without it being cleaned between customers..

Another record covid day in FL. 2500 new cases today.
Since nothing is being done to mitigate the risks and masks are so unpopular here it really wouldn't be surprising if by next week we're talking about 3500-5000 cases a day.

I imagine masking in the hot & humid is difficult for the undisciplined...
If you've ever worn MOPP gear in the sun...

Anyway -- stay safe
