Today starts our mandatory Covid testing by the State. If you refuse, you risk discipline, possible termination. Not sure how they can make that threat when we are already down 90 people and being forced to do mandatory overtime to cover those positions. The conspiracy part of me says this is how they are perpetuating the virus, spreading it with tainted testing kits. The practical side of me says, because I had to travel to Arizona and Utah the past two weekends to take care of business, it's a good idea to get tested now.

We have three new cases in our county over the weekend, all from the same family, all traveled to Az the previous week. The kicker is, they know they are positive, but since they are asymptomatic, they are not honoring the quarantine mandate and they are going out in public like it's nobody's business. Not sure where the law falls here if they can be arrested for exposing the public.

On a different note, the Red Cross is coming to town for their annual blood drive next month. All participants who are able to donate can receive a free antibody test. Again, the conspiracy side of me says it's a ruse, the practical side says it's a great idea.

I wonder if its all just a matter of how the message is packaged... Imagine being able to stop the 2nd plane from hitting the WTC on 9/11... Imagine if wearing a mask would stop that plane... Would people put on a mask? I know that's not a good analogy, but that's sorta how I see it. We all know more covid is coming until a real abatement strategy or a good vaccine is available. So If we can get people tested, get people distancing and wearing masks we take a lot of the fuel for that "second plane" away.

I really do live on a big earthen cruise ship.

20% of all tests done in FL yesterday were positive.

Alarm bells have BEEN ringing. If this isn't the writing on the wall IDK what is. I'm fired up, Im pretty pissed. I can't even begin to explain the error in your analogy without drawing politics into the discussion. I'm trying so very hard to mind my P's & Q's so I don't overtly offend anyone and get myself kicked off the site.

Sufficed to say, if conspiracy in government wasn't real and so well hidden, Hollywood movies about it wouldn't be so dang popular!

Allow me to clarify that I do not think Covid-19 is fake.

I do strongly believe that it has been used to drive fear and hatred into the lives of the entire population of the world. Evil people have capitalized on that fear to further their wealth and power over their fellow man.

Hard times create strong men.
Strong men create good times.
Good times create weak men.
Weak men create hard times.

We are a world being lead by weak leaders, which in turn are creating hard times for us. We, as the human race, will prevail through these hard times. Strong leaders will eventually rise and create for us tranquility once again.

Read your history books, it's full of this cycle. In the religious world we call it the pride cycle.

Now I do believe you are starting to understand! MAXIMIZE the fallout of the virus, scare the masses into submition. Spread the hate and discontent over inequality as far and wide as possible. Turn neighbors against each other. And who is always the one to take the blame for all of the fallout of these situations? It's always the captain of the ship. Even when his direction and intentions are circumvented by the lieutenants below him who are spreading mutiny right under his nose and tying his hands so he can do nothing to stop them.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. All the passengers on the ship are blaming the Captain for not steering the ship away from the colossal drain we are swirling around. Once you start swirling the drain, it's nearly impossible to pull out of the spiral. The problem is, the Captain doesn't steer the ship. The Helmsman does. The Captain tells the Helmsman which way to go. Doesn't mean the Helmsman does what he is told. When the Captain realizes his Helmsman has done wrong, we are already swirling the drain and can't easily get out of it. Meanwhile, all the passengers are blaming the Captain for their pending doom when the fault lies with the Helmsman who was in mutiny.

It is a matter of how we act until we get the Virus. We can hide in a basement with a N95 mask tell our family to stay away tru zoom- (other side of extreme) we can go out dancing every night.

If wearing a handkerchief makes you feel safe then great. Many don't share that feeling. As of now our hospitals are not overflowing and many folks like to be in charge of their own risk assessment and management.

Straw men are killed everywhere. First responders die saving non-seatbelt and non-helmet wearers, they get put in the ICU and take up room that could save others, their fatherless kids are a burden,....

What about haircuts ? 99% of people is see wearing a mask are sporting a haircut. A haircut is fairly high risk in exposure and unnecessary in this climate some might even say "self absorbed and arrogant".

Who gets to decide what is acceptable behavior ? You ? Mass media ? or.. did mass media tell you and now you are justified to tell others ?
Remember in March when mass media was making fun of people wearing face masks ? When the CDC said they "were ineffective" ? I do.

We are all going to get this. It is about how we act until we do. Telling people that do not behave and think like you they are "unacceptable" might not be the best way to act.

I agree with you. I almost want to run headlong into the fire and just get it over with! Hope I'm one of the asymptomatic cases so I can take my 3+ weeks off work, paid by the government of course, and get some good quality time in on the bus!

The other option is to crawl under a rock long enough that it passes and I never get it...….
