11,541 New Cases, 9.43% New Cases Positive Rate, 11.31% Lab positivity rate, 125 Death, 357 Hospitalization for Wednesday update for 12/15/2020
Florida isn't doing well.

It would be nice to see a comparisation between the losses in the restaurant and bar industry and the cost of the hospital treatments.

Does your health insurance pay for a broken leg in a high risk entertainment as skiing or do you need additional insurance for that?

Johan

my mom says the covid cases are blowing up out of control at the hospital. 5 ICU beds left in the hospital that services all of one county and half of another. 500,000 residents in the area and 5 icu beds left. Not good at all.

I'm an immunocompromised person, and the idea of going into a store right now is scary as heck. I plan to continue wearing my mask, as the vaccine may not work for me.

I know I'm living in fear and a lemming and all that, but I beat two kinds of cancer and my immune system's trashed from all the chemo. It worries me that mask-wearing is some kind of political statement. I wear mine for my safety, and on the advice of my doctor. There has been violence perpetrated against cancer patients over this mask business.

I only ask one thing of my fellow Americans moving forward: I wear a mask on the advice of my doctor. It is a medical device. Please, please, be kind and stand back. If you don't like something about my appearance, please, keep your opinions to yourself: I promise you I am not here to start trouble. Leave me alone.

(edit: right now, I'm only going into public spaces when absolutely necessary for business purposes- which means, almost never! My butt stays at home!)

Amen to all that.

Thanks guys for the well wishes. The head pressure and aches are just absolutely relentless. Spiking stabbing pains behind the eyes to boot. I think everyone gets it differently. My wife is fine aside from a slight runny nose. I woke up with severe aches but no fever. I keep dumping Tylenol down the hatch to control both pain and fever. So far haven't gone over 98.8. Cant really say I slept much but that's ok. That is what the day is for!

Sheesh. This is terrifying.

Covid has ripped through my family. I have buried more people this year than ever before. I hope you both don't get it too badly, and that you feel better soon.

Mom died last week in central Mn from it
last march uncle Willy died in New jersey
dozens of people in our county nursing homes are dying every week here in Kandiyohi County west central Mn.
It is for real

And some of us can not wear a mask due to medical issues. so give us room. I give plenty of room for people. If I am about to go through a door way and see someone coming from the other direction, I used to hold the door for them. Now I step back and let them pass through the door first so they don't get too close to me. I do the same in the grocery store aisles. I try to give people a wide aisle. But some people are just convinced that they can get as close as they want to me because they have a mask. Even though a new mask is only about 65% effective and one that you have already used once falls to 30% effectiveness. And how many times do people put on and take off that same mask? Hanging it on your rear view mirror doesn't magically make it clean or more effective.

Seems lie almost everybody is getting mask anxiety now.

I live in the north, and wear glasses. So when I mask-up, because of the fog, I take off the glasses. I'm running blind one way or the other. I guess I could figure out the mask and glasses thing, but I'm stubborn. I'll just wait it out, I guess.

I can relate ... my contacts do the same from time to time.

That's funny.
I put on contacts so I don't need to worry about fogging up my glasses when in mask. Then I have to put on reading glasses to read anything. Guess what! I fog up.:banghead:

Well, it is not as cold down here in Texas. Now that I think about it, I have not noticed it happen as much now that it the temperatures are lower.

I know, right??? I wash and sanitize my masks and wear them carefully, but I know they're not 100%. I make it a point to not crowd other people. Even with masks on.

I wonder if folks are just forgetting. It's easy to get distracted.

Another factor in covid transmission is time. So, if someone is unmasked and they pass close by me, the chance of transmission is much lower than if we stopped to chat for ten minutes.

I just got a text. Now it's a cousin. I have been to ENTIRELY too many funerals this year. My heart is breaking again already. She's pregnant and not doing well.

Health insurance would get a lot more affordable if people with dangerous life style would have to pay extra premiums for poor eating habits, smoking or excessive drinking to name a few.

health AND life insurance should be based on an individuals life style
unfortunately there is no personal responsibility for any health issue/crisis
