Crank no start!
I have no oil pressure from HPOP although i do have oil pressure on the dash (40-50psi). I have checked all fuses and relays, all in working order with good connection. I have also checked all pig tails confirming proper voltage and continuity. I know my LPOP is working because it filled up the reservoir after it was drained for new HPOP install (also telling me my pickup tube isn't broke cracked or blocked). Reservoir doesn't leak down so relief valve/ball is in proper working order. I have replaced the IPR, ICP, and HPOP as far as no oil pressure goes. The drive gear bolt on the HPOP was torqued to 95lbs per specs and mesh is correct as far as the gear goes. Also changed the IPR and ICP. Yet i still have no oil pressure going to the injectors making them fire. Fuel check showed clean fuel so no leakage from injectors needing to be resealed. If anyone could help guide me to the next possible solution id greatly appreciated it. The bus ran and drove before installing all these new parts just randomly died one day while idling in the driveway, now here I am tons of hours and money later.
New parts:
Glow Plugs
Glow plug relay/solenoid
Valve cover gaskets with new wiring
IPR
ICP
HPOP
Oil change (Rotella T 15w-30)
Oil Filter
Fuel Filter

Have you scanned your engine while cranking? Does it show an RPM? Have you replaced the CPS?

A failed CPS will abruptly turn off an engine........ most of the time, sometimes it will restart.

Please purchase an OEM CPS, I believe Aliant also sells one. There are garbage Aftermarket ones like Dorman.

Do not purchase Amazon parts, there are alot of garbage Chinese parts or fakes on there. They either don't work or fail in short time...

Aliant parts is a good brand.

What are you using to scan the engine with?

I do not have a scanner. I have a CPS on the way from riff raff. But wont cause this motor to not have oil pressure would it? And all parts have been OEM Ford or motorcraft

So if you do not have a scanner how do you know you have oil pressure being created from the HPOP?

Your low pressure pump only supplies oil to the HPOP.

You can buzz test the injectors to see if at least the IDM part of the ECM is functioning.

I can imagine you have spent thousands on parts by throwing parts at this thing.

Find an old cheap 2nd hand laptop(, purchase a Chinese scan adapter(I purchased mine for 300 Cad), download the free international software and scan this thing. Search for a nexus thread I created.

Stop dumping starting fluid into this engine. You can damage something. Engine has glow plugs. I've seen flames shoot past a guy's face spraying it into an air box burning his hair off his head.

Have you checked wiring and fuses at the battery box.?

You really need to scan this thing to even see if the ECM connects and then see what information is being provided.

Alot of stuff can go wrong with the engine. You really need a CPS signal, working hpop and IPR with a functioning ECM for a crank no start. The rest will give you fault codes and performance issues

I was wondering same thing... how does he know no HPOP pressure.. unless he is trying to crank it with the ICP unscrewed, it would shoot oil..

And it still tells nothing. You are only seeing oil flow. Not pressure. Seen alot of vt365 only build 300psi in a crank no start to pull a valve cover and see the top o-rings on an aftermarket injector blown and the rail nipple is blowing out oil.

Nice thing about the t444e is there is way less failure points then the vt365

Another challenge is opening up the engine on the vt365 looking for the oil leak. I have a plug that threads into the port where the IPR goes and you stick shop air to it and wait 15 min. You'll find the leak eventually.

Guess it was a trade off with Navistar wanting to build the engine as compact and light as possible. Scary the engine won awards.

Didn’t it win awards before the failures started pouring in ? Alot if the 6.0 shortfalls don’t show up till you get some miles or years .. ..

Wasn’t like the maxxforce 7 that were cracking pistons and eating injector pumps in the first 3 months in some cases

That is true. By late 2004 we were saying oh oh. Something's wrong here.

I know in 2008 the Ford dealers were purchasing all 6.0 diesel super duties that were written off in accidents sight unseen for the engines local to me. They were pulling the engines for cores, parts and whatever else to get customer trucks running. Also heard of some shady warranty practices for the 2006 models nearing the end of the warranty contract but that is hear say. I can't confirm it.

Did you check the injection pressure control valve solenoid that is mounted on the back of the HPOP? Mine went out and had the same symptoms.
