Cruise Was There

I have a 2001 Freightliner shuttle bus, built by Champion Bus, with a Cummins 5.9 engine. I noticed it has what was a cruise control on the blinker arm but the wires have been cut.
I'm trying to figure out if that was an add on and if all the parts that went with it are there or have been removed.
I likely want to have cruise control as the trips I have in mind cross the country from Georgia to Idaho, a trip I've made several times in my Chevy diesel pickup.
Maybe I will have to start as if there was never cruise control and install one. :ermm:
