I was thinking, do the actual companies that make our busses… like what we’re doing to them? I always wondered what bluebird or Thomas as companies think of conversions. If anyone knows before i start emailing bus companies, that’d be great.

I don't know about the bus manufacturers, but the nice ladies in the Etowah County School District office (where I paid for the bus after the auction) said they'd love to see the conversion when I got it done. 'Spose I oughta send them some photos.

The individuals that work in the company do. I've spoke to many about this when I ask around about my bus gathering information where I can. The companies themselves aren't really in competition with us so I don't think they care either way. Some of the older builders who've been working there for 30 years love it when a bus they built way back when was saved and makes them feel warm and fuzzy. It hurts them when they see buses rotting away in bus graveyards.

This was exactly how I was able to do the impossible and get a brand new manufacturer plate for my 1995, 30 year old bus. I found an older career bus builder guy there and did the impossible for me. My info plate was worn out and couldn't be read any longer so he had a fresh legal one made in 2025 I can place on it now. I told him I'm trying to save this old bus, and need help. He wanted me to save it too. I don't think he would of done it for me going out of his way if he didn't like it. He wanted to help save my bus too!

When I finished my conversion, I took it back to the Wayne County Bus Shop to let them see it and they were very happy to see it.
By chance the Bus Driver that drove my bus for many years was at the Bus Shop and had the opportunity to see the change in the bus she drove for many years.
She loved it and was glad to see Bus 72 with a new life and it would be used for many years to come!
I had my Harley in the back also, so it was a big hit for everyone to see Bus 72 was now a Toy Hauler that would be running down to Daytona Beach for Biketoberfest!
At the Bus Shop, the mechanics and many of the bus drivers were excited to see what a school bus could become.
People that are around these Vehicles all of the time do become a part of them and do not like to see them go to waste because they really become a part of them.
One mechanic said he was glad to see the TC2000's gone due to the fact they were hard to work on, but he did give me some throttle linkage parts for my 1992 TC2000 which was great, but he was glad to see bus 72 had a new life.

My bus manufacturer is now defunct (Corbeil), but I'm thinking about bringing it back to the prep school that originally owned it.

The school district I bought my bus from asked me to send pictures if I did not mind. So, when I finished, I sent them about a dozen and from the response I got they really enjoyed seeing New life in the old girl.

Yeah, I was on a school bus driver discord server, and I found someone here who bought one of their buses who maintained it from the day they bought it till they day they sold it at auction. I reunited them with the auction buyer, and they loved seeing the transformation as well.
