DT466 Engine Knock / Rattle? Does this sound right?

Air shutters don't help when the thermostat is closed, and having all the heaters (...) on don't help the engine to warm up. Anyway, just my thoughts and your engine :)

the webasto does :)

air shutters help hold the heat after you have driven o nthe freeway themn are driving in town.. you now have your radiator tanks full of hot water to use until the thermostat closes again :)

Ya that’s ideling really low 400 rpm? That’s too low I think, don’t quote me but I think the sticker says 650rpm on the engine? mine will rattle a lot at less the 550. I like to keep mine around 700-800. I have a knob on my dash that I can turn to adjust my idle speed. You can turn it to adjust idle speed or push the red button and pull up or down to make huge adjustments. If you don’t have the knob hold your rpms around 650 and shoot a new video see if it quiets down

That's what that knob does?! I haven't gotten that far yet, haha
I do have the throttle knob with red button on the dash, I'll start it up again tonight and will adjust the know + shoot another video

Just catching back up on all of your replies - huge thank you!
I'll adjust the throttle knob tonight to get the idle rpm closer to 650. When I bought the bus the knob was almost falling out of the dash so it wouldn't surprise me if it isn't set right.

You are all so awesome for taking the time to lend some knowledge! Ill post a new video/ pics tonight.

Edit: spelling

Hey gang sorry for the delayed reply - it's floor time in the bus and i've been pulling some longer days ;)

THANK YOU FOR THE TIPS! I turned the throttle knob down to get the idle RPM up to 750 and the engine sounds way better (i think?)

I haven't taken any belts off yet - but it seems like it sounds way better:thumb:
