I just bought a retired NC Highway Patrol breathalyzer bus.
Soooo, again, it would be really cool to meet up with local people to collaborate with.

Question: the huge floodlights are still on the roof and I'm hoping to sell them to recoup some of my money. Thoughts on anyone that would want a random item like that??

I have pics of the bus in general but no close-ups of the light thing.
It's an '03 Thomas and has a TON of stuff already on it! Auto leveling jacks, Kabuto 21k diesel generator, power driver seat, electric mirrors, inverter...

Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for that bus? It's something everyone wanted to know for comparative purposes anyway, but were to polite to ask.

Good score. Where did they hide a 21k generator in a bus?

Hey, I think I might have helped fund that bus or at least seen it inside and out?
A long time ago but I know I gave NC some money either way.
Cool find especially with the leveling jacks.
What area are you in?

LOL. Not sure. Didnt try pics till i was past 70 posts. I say just keep posting in this thread till it allows it. We could use some jokes:hide:

haha I pretty much paid for a new courthouse in Carthage. I live near Pinehurst now...well, until my house sells and I hit the road!

Paint has indentations, peels, and scratches from the removal of decals previously affixed. This is purely cosmetic.
This is an excellent running first class commercial bus conversion, ready to hit the road today.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were similar to the floodlights often found on fire trucks.

They are telescoping... there's a corded controller. I wish I had gotten some pics today.

Are they pneumatic? We had some air-powered lighting masts from a fire truck that we used as a flagpole for our Military trucks.

Sounds like you got a helluva bus. 20Kw- you can do some welding.

Who says crime doesn't pay- DUI's must be very lucrative.

They are VERY lucrative! I got one in the early 80's and it was expensive then! They replaced this bus with a million $ one.

Crime does pay every nickel and dime they ever thought they had to the county that gave them a place to stay at that time?
And around here even if you are cleared and not found guilty even for a speeding ticket you still owe the court cost of 210$ this year?
I probably helped fund that bus? Before they bought it but.
DFeazle if you will let me know what you want to get rid of I might be able to help.
You got a lot of things on your build that I am working on adding? So you started off real good.
Now all the fun mess begins.
