I do not intend this to be come a pissing match or rather a dumping match. I am posting this for all those who come up with the idea that they can dump grey water anywhere they choose and then get upset when someone posts that, well, no they can't. Here it is, available on a simple forum search or a link. I have collected up a bunch of links to various discussions on dumping grey water. They range from it's okay to never. It seems to be a subject that pops up here periodically. While it is legal in some places it isn't in many. Not even on the LTVAs (=http://www.blm.gov/pgdata/etc/medi...es.pdfLong Term Visitor Areas... see rule #16). The places where it is legal do not intend on food wastes from washing dishes to be dumped. Waste water from kitchen sinks are not generally considered to be greywater any more. Bear in mind these people are posting about their practices in a wide variety of areas. I would suggest you read ALL of the posts. Not just the ones that support your theory.

Personally, I don't want any one next to me dumping their sticky pest attracting grey water on the ground. Yes I know, "your stuff don't stink". If that's so, then mine don't stink either and you won't mind if I dump my 70 gallons of grey water on your front yard for your kids to play in. We do not dump grey water, not even on private property. We have only dumped once and that was because the park rangers at Tim's Ford SP in TN asked us to do so when we checked in (small popup). We were in year 5 of a severe drought. They asked us to drain our sink water (yes we washed dishes with food/meat particles) 25 ft away at the edge of the treeline. We did that once. But we found it disturbing. I have seen many RVers tossed from COE's, SP's & NF's because they improperly dumped their grey water. I've seen tent campers tossed out because they dumped food CHUNKS into the grey water pits. Food particles in grey water drew the racoons to the campsites in SC. In SC, racoons carry rabies. Not just one or two instances but the whole population seems to carry rabies. (NOTE: ALWAYS get your pets vaccinated against rabies and carry the current proof with you.... the SC racoons are fierce)

This pertains to HOUSE BOUND situations where drainage systems can be built. Good info if you have a piece of land you want to camp on and dump your greywater on.

If you decide to dump your greywater at your site, then don't get upset when someone on one side of you sees you doing that and follows your example. And you end up sitting in a stinky mud puddle because their "dribble" wasn't so small and their hose was their 3" sewer hose (the one they hook up to dump their black tank) and the tank that was emptied was a small 30 gallon tank. And then someone else see two doing that a decides "what a great idea" and then another, etc, etc, etc. And don't get upset because someone "dribbled for a weeks and leaves the campsite a muddy mess for you to park in. We've had that happen to us more than once. Sorry, but we don't camp in grey water puddles! Even if it does drain, the miniscule food particles draw ants and they are a PITA to get out of the RV.
 
Good info, We have never dumped our grey water, in most states if not all it is illegal to do so.

Just remember everything that is dumped sooner or later ends up in your drinking water.

I'm calling the FBI if I see anyone dumping their gray or black water tanks.
 
I think that's why they wanted to close the rubicon trail. That and assholes throwing trash everywhere along the trail.

Guess you need to drive into the Krispy Kreme Shop over on Brainerd Rd (Chattanooga) to get the fresh "unwrapped" ones! We used to stop in when they were cooking the donuts and get some before they glazed them.... yummy.

Would you believe there are 2 Krispy Kremes in all of NM... both in Albuquerque!
 
Hum, Once again I've learned something new here at school bus U. I had no idea donuts had wrappers---probably 'cause I don't eat 'em :LOL:

I grew up in New England. Dunkin Donuts was the place to get "real" donuts. In Tenn. they have Krispy Creme donuts. I never cared for them.

Grey water? If I go out and pee on the front lawn, am I committing a crime?

I have lived in places in FL that would arrest you for indecent exposure if you peed outside! Yankees are so uptight about things like that and have zoned FL to death! Even banned work vehicles, TV antennas, clotheslines and "certain" fences!

Typical Fl town now (Port St. Lucie... may I never see it again!)

High grass and weeds—Section 41.08(:cool:
All grass must be kept mowed below a length of 12 inches on all improved property (property with a structure built upon it) within the City of Port St Lucie. (More than one wildflower bed has been mowed down for the sake of Yankee inflicted rules - lms)

Inoperative vehicles—Sections 95.02, 90.01 and 41.08(E)
Any vehicle that is not fully capable of being started and driven on the highway may be classified as inoperative. Examples of what may be considered as an inoperative vehicle(s), are: one or more flat tires, without wheel(s), without a battery, up on blocks or without a current tag. (A neighbour had the city tow his vintage car he was restoring OUT OF HIS LOCKED GARAGE. I've known more than one person who went to sleep with fully inflated tires and the next morning their car was being towed due to a flat tire... what a coincidence - lms)

All events held outside must apply for a special event permit, issued by the Business Tax Office, which can be reached at (772) 871-5132. The permit is valid for two weeks and may be obtained two times per year. Signs are required to be removed 48 hours after the special event.

Makes you want to move there doesn't it? And this is the common stuff. They have reams of rules that they haul out to harass folks with. All the little violations are paired up with some hefty fines. PSL makes a tidy profit on these rules.

My reply is: Of course you do not want to let it all hang out in the middle of the day. Go behind a bush.

Yankees? Florida? I don't understand. Florida is way south of New England which is home of Yankees.
