In case anyone is doing a swap........
The fist gen dodge 5.9 Cummins from 89 to 93 used a electric lift pump in the fuel tank. This is the mechanical pump that replaces it, and prevents injection pump failure due to low fuel pressure. Most P pumped 5.9 Cummins that came stock in full size buses, already have this pump.

First pic is the stock priming pump when using the in tank electric. When this one fails, it fills the crankcase full of diesel fuel.

Second and third pic are the manual replacement pump that eliminates the electric pump in tank. This mechanical pump pulls it's power from the camshaft lobe. When it fails, it simply starts leaking.
