Enlighten me on finish flooring pros and cons

I’ve been looking at quite a few conversions but can’t seem to make a decision on final flooring on top of the subfloor. Looking at splash guard t&g vinyl planks, but has anyone done sheet vinyl? Or even plywood?

In my limited experience, most house flooring products will work. The possible complication is your environment. For example; I've heard that some laminate does not like lots of humidity (I don't have a complete list).

I've used laminate, carpet, vinyl sheet, tile, etc. They've all worked fine for me.

I used polyvinyl sheet flooring like you see used in high-end garage floors.

Roll vinyl will work fine. My dad owned a flooring company I worked at all through school.

If you go with roll, fix all your seams in ply or what ever your sub floor is and fill in nicks and cracks with subfloor patch or you will see/feel anything underneath down the road

Any questions you have on flooring I don't know I can run passed my dad, but he's been out of it awhile so he's not super up to date on new product.

Haha sounded like it. I saw you went to tri state and they treated you well, I plan on taking my bus over there when ready for a check up so thanks for sharing that.

Yeah man they did me good, didn't try to get extra money upselling me and actually knocked my final bill down. Little stuff like instead of changing my fuel filters and selling me some spares he got me the spares made sure I had a filter wrench. Even called the next day to make sure everything was running good.

As for flooring, I went with calibamboo's pro series LVP luxury vinyl plank because the specs said it could withstand the widest range of temps and humidity of anything I could find. I have no installed it yet. I need to frame the front edge of the floor, lay the last piece of subfloor and then do whatever I am supposed to do for the joints/ tiny cracks. Also, I left a gap along the edge for expansion. Do I put backer rod in there so it doesn't move but CAN expand? I want to have a floating floor *and* subfloor. Is that insane? Am I supposed to only have one or the other floating?

And what do I use for the joints before installing the flooring?

I'm not sure on the brand of patch we used it's a powder you mix with water but it's kind of brittle, for a bus I'd just use the same glue you are using for the roll vinyl. My plan is to use two layers of thinner ply and stagger the joints and staple both layers together of one large bus shaped platform floating on foam board then plank flooring floating on that. I may use small L bracket to hold the ply at the walls if I have to much play.

Just be careful to leave room around the edge for expansion so your floor won't bow. A little kick board trim will hide it all.
