I’ve been looking at quite a few conversions but can’t seem to make a decision on final flooring on top of the subfloor. Looking at splash guard t&g vinyl planks, but has anyone done sheet vinyl? Or even plywood?
What do you use for subfloor patch?;Roll vinyl will work fine. My dad owned a flooring company I worked at all through school.
If you go with roll, fix all your seams in ply or what ever your sub floor is and fill in nicks and cracks with subfloor patch or you will see/feel anything underneath down the road
Any questions you have on flooring I don't know I can run passed my dad, but he's been out of it awhile so he's not super up to date on new product.
PS sorry I missed you when I was in the neighborhood, rough weekend.
As for flooring, I went with calibamboo's pro series LVP luxury vinyl plank because the specs said it could withstand the widest range of temps and humidity of anything I could find. I have no installed it yet. I need to frame the front edge of the floor, lay the last piece of subfloor and then do whatever I am supposed to do for the joints/ tiny cracks. Also, I left a gap along the edge for expansion. Do I put backer rod in there so it doesn't move but CAN expand? I want to have a floating floor *and* subfloor. Is that insane? Am I supposed to only have one or the other floating?What do you use for subfloor patch?;
