Evacuating Florida from Hurricane Irma

Everyone was worried about the coastal areas when the hurricane came, but few spoke of other bodies of water
This is the Peace River in Wauchula, the way it usually is, then post-Irma
I know someone who now lives 3 FEET away from the river

We left in our bus and went to Alabama. We stayed at the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds. Full 50amp hook up for free. The next night we stayed at Hank Williams Boyhood Home and Museum, 127 Rose Street, Georgiana, AL 36033 for free. The local churches had lunch and dinner for everyone that evacuated for the storm. They even sang happy birthday for my 3 yr son.

A memory your family will never forget:thumb:

Well we have power and internet back but since we live close the the Withlacooche River, we are having some flooding. It is expected to rise 17 feet above normal. We are on one of the highest points in our community so we are not concerned yet (except it is limiting our ability to get out of the neighborhood).

Really hoping that water stops for you, real soon! Looks like we've got another hurricane heading this way next week... the joys of living in paradise... the occasional hurricane season that never ends!
