Hi,

After starting to dig into importing a bus, this suddenly pops up on Facebook:'

"
Unfortunately my working visa for Canada is due to expire and it’s time to sell up
Shotgun is a 1986 International with a 6.9l Diesel V8 in her
332000km
This beast is super reliable - we have driven this all over Canada, through the US deserts in summer to Mexico and recently done a trip to Alaska and back with no issues
I’ve looked after it meticulously - serviced every 5000k.
The bus runs off 3 deep cycle batteries that support a fridge and microwave. I’ve set up a system so that you can isolate batteries and never go flat...
*The only mechanical issue is it only starts off 6 glow plugs, no issue to start unless it’s below -20 Celsius

$10,000 Canadian

Any thoughts on this bus?

Old bus with an old motor. Sounds like its already lived two lives.
With no pics 10 grand sounds absolutely crazy.
Facebook is probably the worst place to shop for buses.

Facebook is a great place to sell buses because people there will pay pay top dollar for junk.

On the up side, $10k canadian is like... $200 in Freedom dollars.

I saw their pics on Instagram....your suspicions seem to be confirmed. Looks like they had an absolute blast traveling, but the bus itself is pretty unremarkable.

Compelled to use any money so who is free? Slaves we are to death, monetarily. That is why bus living helps if you build one, fly under the radar.

Reality....

$7600 USD

206k miles

The 6.9 IDI was a good motor. Pretty limited on power but definitely reliable once you fix the glow plugs......

Hi,

Stuff I need to clarify around title (US vs CAD), but assuming the title is CAD already. The 10k is not to crazy.

If I buy a bus in the US, I will probably pay maybe 5k US = 6500 CAD

And then the cost + time around importing/reclassing etc.

Zero buses available in BC of that size. The 10k is not to unreasonable if the frame is in good shape.

FWIW:

]The auction sites have buses in ON and AB pretty regularly. I have not seen many in BC lately.
