Wanted to throw this into the mix. Maybe its all been done before, but I didn't notice it......

Single attachment. Bend-able-by-hand corner fixture. One 3/8 bolt and a Tec Screw indextor. The 2X2 will break before the fixture shifts.

Chop up the spare bed frame, drill chops and nailer-it on the bottom.

Pop out the window screws. Insert 3/8" body nuts and install 2X3 studs.

Insulated with 1.5" foam, creates plumb spacing, glue where unsupported. Maintains paneling.

Wife's only complaint is lower bunk discomfort. Kinda seems like she's getting a little "privileged" to me?
