Getting ready to seal my plywood floor & went to Lowes to purchase some Flex seal but it's $90.00 a gallon,, ouch, Lowes rep suggested using Black Jack Rubber Seal as being just as good $ 50.00 for about 2 gal can, question I have is has anyone used the Black Jack sealer wiether on your home roof of bus & does it have a Oder that might not dissipate when used inside.

I was under the impression that Black Jack sealer is an asphalt based tar sealer that never completely dries out... Used it on mobile home roofs before years ago.

Maybe we're not on the same page?

APPLICATION: Apply generously with a trowel or putty knife. It is highly recommended to reinforce the repair with a strip of universal patching fabric. Work material to an even consistency over and into the area to be repaired approximately 1/8" to 1/2" thick, two or three inches beyond the problem area. Embed fabric into the cement and cover with a second layer of cement. Form a feathered edge with cement where chimneys, vent pipes, and other projections meet the roof line. Allow product to cure a minimum of 30-60 days prior to application of reflective coating.

And you're wanting this to seal your floor?

That's not exactly the same stuff, the stuff they recommended came in a yellow & black can, I'm at work right now tomorrow I can update with more info but it's what the Lowes guy recommended but I wanted to ask before I opened the can.

It looks like it's a rubber roof coating of some kind. From what I've seen, most products that are marketed as rubber roof cement or "elastomeric roofing compound" all seem to do about the same thing as the brand-name Flex Seal compound.

What about this stuff?

I haven't been able to find any reviews or talk about Black Jack Silver-Seal 300 being used on a skoolie roof. Anyone have any opinions on this stuff. 4.75 gal for $50 would be great considering our budget.
