Floating floor over rubber?

I just got a bunch of laminate floating floor for a good price today. Do I need to do anything to the rubber floor other than mop it and plug the holes before I can lay the laminate?

The rubber floor in mine had a pretty bad smell when it got warm. I was happy to get rid of it.

As Marc pointed out, it's near impossible to take care of the rust that is likely under the rubber without taking it up first.

I don't have the time or the help to do that at this time. I'm injured and don't have electricity or someone to help. I'm aware this is not ideal.

I am not sure what your conversion plans are.

I can't see getting very much done without electricity. You may want to address that first.

I hear pretty good things about the Harbor Freight inverter generators and they are relatively affordable.

I'm also doing things myself. It can be quite challenging. I do think a generator is a good idea though. Do you already have all the seats out? I think the rubber smell would bother me after a while.

If you plan on leaving rubber in, I would think a layer of thin luan, (waterproof plywood), would be a good "base" for your laminate floor.

I might do that to mine in the interest of saving time. I'm probably not going to be around or driving in 10 years anyhow, so no real concern about rust under rubber.
My bus is from NC where no salt was used on roads, so there shouldn't be any real rust issues under the rubber.

After a thorough visual "upskirt" inspection, the floor is totally solid underneath with no rust on any structural members or floor underside.
