Floating floor squeaks?

Here a good one to think about instead of squeaks floors and tire presser & bs ,,think about this ,,how to make your diesel run on multi fuels ,like motor oil or jet fuel,not bio diesel or veg oil.. :shock: . do.like the military trucks M35a. diesel not getting any cheaper nor veg oil.....so think about this,it would make a good discussion

I was thinking bacon grease. Talk about stinky! :shock:

One of the guys at work told me his grandfather used to pour bacon grease around the bottom of fence posts to keep them from rotting away from moisture. All I could think was how bad it must have smelled and how many bugs it attracted.

dip drill bits in bacon grease before you chuck them up in the drill press.. also works when needing lube for your lathe tool.

I finally decided to glue the foam to the floor, then glue the wood to the foam. Before I add the final flooring surface, I'll add 1 to 3 screws around the edge of each sheet of plywood (depending on size). That will help maintain the distance from the wall.

Unfortunately, until I can get help with the generator out of the bus, I'm at a standstill with the flooring. So I've moved on to plumbing and building the framework for the walls.

I plan on installing floating floor engineered hardwood in my shorty. Got it laid out on the entire floor, will glue planks to each other, leave 1/2” gap around the edges, and build furniture on top of it. Mainly will secure cabinets, etc. To the side wall studs, and secondarily screw the base into the floor joists, which will have to screw right through the floating floor.
I wonder how the screws will change the floating aspect of the floating floor and if those point will cause some sort of disjoint with the rest of the flooring as it expands and contracts.
Create the level subfloor and the gaps for expansion and it should be okay! Weight of the furniture on top of the floor should keep the mass of wood braces down in the event of an accident, I would assume. Hope your build went well! Any pics?
