I have a 1995 Thomas Saf-T-Liner I bought to convert.
It has a 8.3 cummins with a MD 3060 Allison 6 speed transmission. Yes the 6th gear is unlocked already. This was an activity bus for the school so they had it unlocked when they got it.
It has factory a Wabasto diesel heater and automatic snow chains, also factory installed.
This bus has the pass through storage on both sides. I have the original paperwork, worksheet for the bus. After I got the bus I called Thomas, located in NC, where I live and the nice lady there researched and sent me the documents they had for the building of this bus for this school. I also have the manuals for the bus as well.
My dream was to travel when I retired, but life changed. About three years ago I had an expected health issue that after being in a coma, three surgeries and a couple of years rehabbing have left me managing, but not able to travel. Because of my condition I will not be finishing this and will happily change my plans to just retire at home.
I wanted to post to see if there was any interest in buying this bus. If so let me know and I can tell me more about it.
Currently I know it will need a battery to start it, both of mine were stolen when I first got it, and I only bought one to start and maintain it while it was parked on the farm. It's on a concrete pad and dad has tried to keep the battery up, but he is 90yo and I am sure it's dead by now.
I removed both hatches in the roof, and patched them with galvanized steel because I didn't trust them not to leak. The seats are removed and there is one platform temporarily in the back where I had my bed and slept when I went to the farm to work on it.
I have attached some pictures and the build sheet for your review. The bus is located near Edenton, NC and I am asking $5000 for it.
