Well its been years since I've been able to sign in. I did something technically wrong haha.

So I found this forum and it changed my life and lifestyle. I lived aboard the Rockin RV for 2.5yrs and never dreaded a moment. When I moved in after the divorce I had an inflatable mattress and an Ice Chest... AND I NEVER SLEPT BETTER!!!!!! Over the next 2yrs (and still tinkering) I've gotten it pretty much where it is a fully functioning RV. Some may argue that and I would likely agree but I lack no thing that "I" need... I love my Bus and the simple pleasures working on it have given me over the 3 years of ownership.
I'm happily remarried now to my HS Crush and best friend and her and I use the bus for... getaways.
I learned a lot from a lot of people on here - mostly reading with no response. And there are still things to be done to add to the experience. But all in all I would suggest it to anyone. You've got to have SOME thick skin but it's not too bad. You've got to roll with some punches - endure things at first like your daughter getting vomit in her hair when you have NO running water, burning up your Convertor learning the hard way about 50A to 30A Dogbones right before bedtime, taking outdoor showers in the winter, trusting water pressure, fire, and electric... custom fitting almost everything, thinking of the miles of wire you don't know when your bus won't start because the Back Hatch is open... Jumping on the roof only to fall back off, learning you suddenly have a warm blooded visitor somewhere inside that may be chewing wires, plumbing, gas lines, while you sleep... That lasted ONE DAY!!! LOL
Its been great though. You sit in your own creation - every corner is where you want it, you sit where you wanted to, you 'Go' where you wanted to, you shower where you wanted to, its an extension of what you wanted and its yours. You own it, you built it, and you can live in it.
I wouldn't trade a day I lived in it... and I cherish each moment I open her up and see her empty now - just holding a few necessities... no fresh Veggies, or leftovers... just a tool now not a home anymore and yes I miss it. Always will I suppose~

Looking at the driver's seat.... Is there a fur-lined jock-strap joke in here somewhere????:whistling::peace::hide: But seriously, just got my '89 Saf-T-Liner last week. I'd LOVE to have as good results as you have! Fur included!

Hahaha... I have a friend - she calls it my "Hooker Dash"...
LOL

SERIOUSLY CONSIDER NOT taking your dash apart...
It requires detialed labeling and photos...

I glued on real African Wood laminate and lacquered it...

Wires wires wires... That's all I remember

Fur lined Jock Pit?

cool build!
eccotemp living up to everything I've read?

It's been a good unit - I messed up when I got it - I just cracked my main ball valve open a hair to check for leaks - forgot to open it up altogether - the low pressure wasn't allowing it to light and I jacked with the fine tune settings inside - THEN... I figured out I hadn't opened up the valve... Grrrrrrrr

Now I turn on the hot water and it'll go out so I have this "THING" I've gotten used to.
I turn on the hot water - count to 3 - turn it off then back on and it stays on.

Yea... It's one of those things I never think to fix until I'm using the hot water.

I will say - in my shower - I made my own shower head from a copper Pex Header - and I never use the cold water - the water I get I control the temp via water volume... If I cut the pressure down - it gets very hot with good flow from the shower head - if I open it up it cools down and I get a heavy stream of shower water - so I'm happy.
At the Kitchen sink it works the same and I can get it steaming hot.

Scale of one to Ten - if give it an 9.25~
