In the past days, we've been working to update the forum to a new software platform and we've been offline. Welcome back! The new forum software is powered by Xenforo and there are some new features and functions. We're still tweaking things so please be patient.

There are many new features and I encourage you to wander around, test things out and then visit your profile and do some updating. Please keep in mind that changes and adjustments are still being made and so views will become more refined over the next few days.

Update your profile:

• Consider uploading a new avatar (little pic next to your posts). The new site accommodates larger images and old avatars are looking a little tired. Avatars will automatically resize - choose a good one!
• Update your signature if needed
• Add a profile banner - larger image that displays on your profile page
• Review your signature - you may need to update it.

Mobile viewing
The site runs well on small screens. Try it out on the road, and use your regular login - no app required. Set a bookmark for the site on mobile for fast access and look for push notifications (coming soon) to stay up to date.

Thread marking:
The forum remembers what you have already read and will display new unread threads as bolded or when you click into an ongoing thread, takes you to unread content BUT: You may need to Mark a forum "read" for this to work correctly moving forward. The conversion could not "remember" what you have already seen and so initially all threads may appear as unread. To do this, open a forum and look for the link at the top of the list of threads to "Mark Read". Alternatively, use the 'Mark Forums Read' link at the top of the page to mark all.

Classifieds: The classifieds pages are still offline. We have a new classifieds system in the works and it's not quite ready to go live.

There are many things still being tweaked and fiddled with and you will continue to see some changes but we wanted to get back online as soon as possible - thanks in advance for your patience.

If you have 2 accounts, we can merge them and move all posts to one account but we will need to know which account you wish to retain. Duplicate accounts are not allowed.

Duplicate display names and system-changed names - With the recent Software update, duplicate display names (two members w/the same name) are no longer allowed.

If you find your display name was changed and you need a hand updating it, please let us know. Often these changed display names will look like this: Treeman (changed to) Treeman-SKO.

You may be able to edit your display name yourself via your profile, but if you need a hand please hit the contact link at the bottom of the page - we can help.

I had no idea that I had become addicted to this thing, and during the outage I fell into a deep depression and had to resort to Psychotropic medications to survive for the last few days...

There used to be photos embedded into most of the threads. The photos don't appear any more.

Will the photos, which were embedded, return to the threads/posts?

Where did the Registry section go?
…Specifically all of the commentary/photos that were entered in the previous registry page…

These were moved into Albums. All the info should be retained and albums will allow you to add larger images, etc

The same thing happened to our photos over a decade ago, with the last photo dump, aka: the great reset.

Will the links to the photos, on the old site's albums, which were embedded (via bbs code) be linked back into the old threads?
Or will the KnowledgeBase remain redacted?

Thanks but all I see under the dots is a selection to move album and a check box that reads “Select for modernization” … no option for editing …

I'm using the mobile version right now and I prefer to browse by "New posts" so I didn't miss any conversations, but on the new site it doesn't dismiss the read posts as I go through them. I'd like to see them disappear after visiting so I didn't have to go to the full list of posts which is also cumbersome because they do not disappear there either and I have 7 pages of new posts to catch up on. Eventually as I browse them and am on page 4 of 7 it is a lot of clicks to get to the next post.

It seems to know I have visited a post because it's no longer bolded title text so it should be an option to just remove it from my list like on the old forums.

The previous "bus ID" area under our user name was helpful. Many questions are unanswerable without such info.
