I'm going to be using 1 40 gallon fresh water tank and a 21 gallon tank for a combined capacity of 61 gallons.
I am going to have the tanks back to back.

I'm getting the 40 gallon from Tri-State ROCK YOUR WORLD. And I'm wondering where I should get the additional fitting installed to tie the two tanks together. Would the idea even work? Anyone else do this? How would this work with filling and draining (when being sucked out with pump)?

Would I get a 1 3/8 barb fill fitting? Or just the regular 3/8 drain fitting?

I just don't want to get the fitting put in the wrong spot.

I already paid for the 40 gallon tank. I just need to fax him a drawing where I want the fitting.

AAHHH.. NICE IDEA SMITTY! Would I use the same method for filling the tanks also?

No. I'm not looking to isolate the smaller tank at all, I would just like added capacity without spending $250 bucks on a single 60 gallon tank. (plastic-mart and tank depot).

Thanks again Smitty!
