Haha that's great! You make it sound so simple :)
It looks really neat with the how far back the drive axle is located. I suppose compared to the more common placement of the axle on a short bus that the turning radius will be a bit more, but still not bad at all.

Did you manage to get the seam sealed up? More pictures please!

well i clamped on a strip across the seam for now. the back 2 feet of bus is a storage area with an insulated wall so the seam is not on the living quarters side

Very groovy! :)

TOO COOL!........sometimes the obvious solution isn't that obvious. :Thanx:
I too am looking for the right short bus....... But never thought to just make one! You are a man after my own heart.

I too like how it sets the wheels back on body. You did a nice job. Looks great!

Doesn't look too hard to do if you have a torch and a welder.

How about some pics of the inside and a bit more on the process.

AGAIN! GREAT IDEA! :thumb:

actually i used a large angle grinder i found at the pawn shop. and only had to get 5 stitches im my left arm

after the removal of inner skin, the cutting and rejoining took from march 30 to april 2. according to time stamped photos

Love the lines, gives it a 1930s wagon look!

The only issue I would see is a lot of weight on the front axle. Make sure you put all the heavy stuff near the rear.
