Looking at many buses online and found one at an auction site a couple of hours away in FL. Looks like a nice condition bus but getting a response from the “ so called ASSet “is a act of god. So I can’t go to see what tranny she has and condition of tires. Asking for some tire pics which could be done with our awesome portable computers( I phones) would take one minute but that’s asking too much.what happened to doing the job that you are paid to do????2001 am Tran DT466E and I am hoping a 2000 tranny?is it risky to bid without seeing it and answering those questions??!

Its because they're school board employees not bus salesmen.
Try calling them if a contact number is provided.

Any questions you ask via email will likely be published giving other bidders more info to make a more informed bid. I've found that info and pics drive the price up.

The phone number listed is an office number that rings until the 2nd coming of Christ and he will not reply to Email.

Figure out what district the bus is from and google the contact information for their fleet/maintanance department. That will get you a lot farther than <insert random office worker here>

knowing several friends that are trans directors, they go on holiday break too... and most schools at least around here are still off.. some trans directors work but have limited hours on holiday break.. monday will be first day back and. be a zoo.. not sure when aucxtion ends but if its after turesdasy that would be a good day to call

Yes. I found out that they are on vacation until Monday and that’s when auction ends. 2 hours drive and working Monday so difficult to get there beforehand.no VIN provided and agent knows little about it.

That means no-one else will know much about it either -- tends to keep the bids low...

If you're serious -- pay a local mechanic to check it out.
In my area there's a couple "we'll come to you" freelance diesel mechanics on FB Marketplace. Hit one up.

The only time I used the "ask a question" is when I want something negative posted that is not in the listing, so it will scare off potential buyers if it's a bus I want, even with the negative.

Drone action

I should get a drone and then I can slip into the lot and look under the bus at the tranny tag and see the model. Like something out of an espionage film😜
