Fuel economy

Hi guys
New to this , how are these diesel engine on fuel with a 48pass.The bus I was looking to buy ,the guy said he had clipped a wire on the emergency doors or something and you had to fart with it to get the bus to start! Any way around that system?? Thanks

what motor and transmission
even tire size matters as well as some other things.
but type of bus and drivetrain will help answer that question.
in the mountains on flat land? towing?
