Want it bright as possible, preferably 12v LED. What's out there that isn't real bulky? 7.5' x 7.5' area.
Putting in a work bench marc? Possibly on a wall and over your tool boxes would be better than ceiling mount. Keep your cables accessible all the way back to the panel, they look good exposed if run nicely without kinks and gentle bends. Same for your receptacles.
Haven't shopped for light fixtures lately so no help there.

You might also like to add an articulated light on each end of the workbench for directed lighting.

LED's would be best, to not use as much 120v. Plan on a 4 gang receptacle on each side (or 2 gang with switch), over head lighting. Probably cut in a hinged compartment out side with an air connection.

... just a quick google search...
Naw, nothing spectacular. I do use the "typical" Walmart style desklamp on one of my work benches. I like to be able to positiion it right on the work at hand. My wife has one with a fluorescent circular light that surrounds a magnifying lens which is cool. It is called an OttLite:I thought you might have something particular in mind. That wooden articulated LED one is different.
