I'm doing rest area camping at this moment but in the van. Using the van doing things this way make showering a little hard but I did go in to the lake for a bit and washed the hair in the sink at the rest area. During the day we just do other activities around town. And we are not alone there is at least a half dozen others doing the same thing as I type this. One class A, two Toyota's, on e van that appears to be a roadtrek, and three other conversion vans.
To add to that about 4 minivans and a couple cars.
I'm using my cooler that I got a couple months ago, which is a 60 quart igloo ice cube cooler. With this one it is not a long cooler but is is a taller one and holds the ice for longer than the long ones.
On the down side I did end up paying more than those that opted for a $30 campsite. I ended up buying a vacuum pump, belt and a couple wrenches and a pulley puller. But I would have had to get that anyways. I haven't changed it yet but it is comforting to know it is there for when my current one gives out completely.
