Based on the tech specs (I've read them all lol), 3M 550FC should be a pretty great option for sealing & bonding, particularly steel panels. Just found a company in Phoenix that has it on sale for $7.25 / 10oz tube. $7.04 each if you buy a 12-pack case. Their regular price is ~$11.00. Cheapest I could find it on Amazon was > $12.00.

I walked in & picked up ours so I don't know what shipping will be. But this place has a huge warehouse w/ tons of inventory we all might find useful. Obvious they do mostly B2B. Might be other deals to be had especially in volume. Don't let the cheesy website fool you. They're not some kid on Amazon selling chi-com crap from his bedroom.

Also the 3M 500-series polyurethane adhesive sealant product family:

I wonder what the relationship is between that stuff and Dynatron 550 (also from 3M).

That's a great question. Wish I knew the answer. It's the only product I've looked up that doesn't have a data-sheet available on the product page. I did look up their 3M-branded automotive urethane seam sealer, but the information provided is so different I still can't strike a meaningful comparison.

I found this data sheet on the 'tron: https://www.autobodytoolmart.com/pdf/Dynatron-550-SDS.pdf. I really need to start using gloves with this. Not to mention reading the damned instructions on things like somebody I know.

Yeah, that's the SDS. I was hoping to find the TDS to compare specs on tensile strength, elasticity, prep solvents, etc.

I avoid reading the SDS. That's just unnecessarily scary

Of course it's scary, it is written by OSHA-crazy safety nuts!
