We are just getting going on grinding off some rust on the floor of our Skoolie. My husband is using a grinder with a wire wheel. He is taking off the flakes and bits but it still is brown after. For those of you who've done this already, how much is enough? Will the brown faded smudge leftover be okay?

Thanks, Josh and Jules.

I found that the wire wheel just polished the rust on my scale rust. If you bang it hard with a hammer, it still flaked off more. It was shiny crap, but still crap. The flat angle grinder is more time-consuming, but is a better grind off. Then treat the floor with rust converter for anything else, followed by rust preventing paint.

I agree. This is what I have found that works the best. It is used to strip paint.
