It's been a rough year for many of us. I have had my share of hard-core stress. Leaving behind a life built of decades is not for the faint of heart. Frankly, in many ways, I am surprised I am still here. But I found the Skoolie forums and the YouTuber's videos and decided to roll the dice.
It has been choice after choice of how to survive after the world moves on around me. I am down to the dregs of what is left and the hard part of dumpster'ing most of that. Mostly empty rental. Mostly Full bus. As it's in moving van mode rather than livable. I am down to the last few feet of space, which says I probably should have chucked another forty or more percent of what I am trying to keep.
It was my intention to buy a small piece of land on the outskirts of somewhere and drop a container to store things and use as a workshop. I'm still hunting. Really hoping to find Unrestricted land that will allow for my stuff, plus a couple more Skoolies or tiny homes to rent space to. Having some income from and the company of, will hopefully keep me going. But that appears to be many months down the road if I am lucky enough to find the land.
I am heading to my build location through the kindness of those here who have shared their knowledge and soon-to-be space as I manage to complete the load and make final safety checks of all the new-to-me processes: Long distance driving of the bus, towing a suv, Autobraking system of the suv (Used RVI 2 system), New to me (used)tire pressure sensing kit which I have yet to install. Way to much is let's use this for the first time on the getting-out-of-town trip. But that has become the outcome of procrastination and what I assume has been fear of the unknown.
So here I am, Christmas Eve day, about to finish the wiring for the IRV2 breakaway link. And more trashing of items that wouldn’t sell or be picked up for free. We live in strange times when multiple people contact us with the desire to take a free item and then are never heard from again. Free seems to be not good enough. I have a few asking for delivery on top of it being free. Strange times.
So, thank you to all and have a safe happy holiday. I look forward to meeting you on the road.
