Has Anyone Used This "Specialty Farm and Implement Enamel?"

EastCoastCB, so you mean this is the same formula as which Rustoleum product? I don't think the Professional High Grade Enamel. I actually have an email inquiry into Rustoleum now about this. We'll see what they say. TY!

Its just regular rustoleum in factory "implement" colors. Its an oil based enamel.
 
I used it on my floor. Wanted to see how Ford Blue turned out. It's pretty, but not the color I want on the outside.

I put down over Rustoleum rusty metal primer. Took a whole can for my floor, roughly 27' x 7.5".
 
It worked about as well as expected. Only chipped when sharp metal objects met it at a high velocity IMG_20180517_000404_551.jpeg
 
No, I didn't. Didn't really know about them at the time. It's all good though. The primer had weeks to cure before I painted. Anyways, it's all covered up now

Yeah its not necessary at all for a floor, I was just curious. I used some on a few test panels and it greatly improves the durability of the finish.
 
Do you still need hardener if using a Tractor/Farm/Implement paint (any brand)? I haven't heard back from Rustoleum from an email I sent them 2 days ago whether the only difference between their regular paint and the "farm" paint is the color. I thought that's the whole point of having a really hard paint (I/e. farm and tractor sound tougher)... so you don't need the hardener? Maybe?
 
I think East coast and it right. The implement paint is just factory colors so you can repaint your tractor the same color over and over again.

I'd avoid John Deere also, it's the worst paint I sprayed working in the paint shop. We did parts for Harley, John Deere, Tesla, and a ton of military parts. That stuff is a nice finish, but it's sensitive wet and a 24hr cure.
 
Works very well and has held up to rain and sun exposure since 2012. I painted it on this bus, it does better thinned slightly in my experience, added thinner at about 20% to the gallon in a separate bucket.

Some people add hardner, I did not and though I suppose that would be fine if you do, I don't think it requires it nor does it seem to do a lot of help one way or the other long-term as far as I can see. A hardener may end up helping with micro abrasions on the surface level would be one thought but chipping, I think that will happen naturally even with hardener.

Sooo...my plan now is to wash and lightly sand bus just to scratch it a bit. Treat the rust spots with extra love (more sanding, Rustoleum "Stops Rust" spray). Tape off windows, etc. Spray Rustoleum "Primer Surfacer" in light grey (oil based; all I can find this stuff in is light grey and grey). Spray Rustoleum "Farm and Implement Oil Paint" (slightly thinned maybe 15-20%; skipping the hardener) in International Harvester White. We'll see how coverage goes and may apply an extra coat.

If you guys have any helpful tips, or think I should be doing something differently here, please feel free to share! I very much appreciate it!

Now, let's hope for a day with no wind... ;)

The best rust converter isn't a spray. Its called Rust Reformer. Its white and when it is applied to rust turns black. The spray can labeled rust reformer is just black spray paint. The real RR product is $75 a gallon.
 
My plan was to bui a short bus and turn it into a schoolie.
A friend at dog club had an old 1977 class C motorhome to give away. It is in your face purple and pink accents . Needs whole redo.
From Tracker Supply I am using Magic Farm implement paint ($19.00 a gal) first primer then ($29.00a gal )off white and ford blue for accent color. Using a air compressor and spray gun . A (10.00 can per gal of paint)thinner must be added to paint. Then clear coat($ 29.00 per gal). Called 800 # very helpful knowable people.
