Headlight recommendations

I dont physically have the bus in front of me because I am at work.... on my day off....

I do have a picture of my headlights. Guess I wanna know what you bought and if you liked them. Links would be appreciated. Is this just a standard size? What size or type do I look for as I kill some time at work. At least it is overtime and will give me some money for the conversion. Cheers

IMO you have three options as far as replacements. Go with standard sealed beam, those last about a year or so before starting to dim. Go with L.E.D. headlights, these are great flood/short distance lights. But also be aware that you are also blinding oncoming drivers . . . even on low beam. Go aftermarket. I personally went to Headlight Revolution. Got a nice set of glass front headlights that use a H4 (i think) for about $65 plus bulbs. They are not fancy but more than sufficient. Also they are DOT approved.

LED School bus headlights - Amazon.com- I have had them for two years. They work great. I have never blinded oncoming traffic.
They are about $45 for a pair.

I'm very happy with the Truck-Lite LED units I'm running. The put a lot of useful light down the road and are made by an actual OEM so the quality is consistently good.

I'm using those, model 27450C. I used a coupon on ebay to bring the cost down to ~$300. Not cheap, but made in the USA by an OEM so not terrible either.

I called the local Truck Pros and they wanted $239.00 each, they did not say which model it was for which they were quoting that price.. $300.00 for the pair is a little more bearable. Of course, I would have liked them for $200.00 ... dreaming.

I would have liked cheaper too, and there are now knock offs on Amazon of them. The official ones are $340/pair there if you are more comfortable using that platform.

In your opinion, is the beam patern and luminocity really good with the Truck-Lite LED lamps? Worth the price?

On all 3 vehicles I put them on, they made a huge difference. One thing to keep in mind is the cut off is pretty good so aiming them well is very important. When that's done I can see quite a distance on low beam and what feels like a solid 1/2 mile on high beam.

The one area the light isn't the greatest, is the few feet directly in front of the bumper. I barely notice it from the drivers seat, but on a flat front bus you would probably notice it more. It could easily be solved with some cheap fog lights.

I didn't see a Rampage link, but the Hella link earlier in this thread only converted to a H4 bulb. That should put out a bit more light, but the LED will put out far more IME.

I think that for an OEM (they supply custom housings for OTR trucks) solution that's made in the USA with a 3 year warranty that might actually be worth something, they're not out of line price wise.
